How Do You Remove Pirated URLs?
We locate infringing content via a combination of manual Keyword and complex Boolean searches and via automated crawling of known pirate linking sites.
Our service operates around the clock and all links are verified before they are submitted for removal. Thus, we can react to leaks within minutes and take immediate action.
When we find that your work has been shared without your express permission, we either delete the content ourselves or issue a Copyright/DMCA notice to the site in question. Once the site is aware that unlicensed content has been uploaded to their servers, they are then legally obliged to remove that file and/or page.
Why Do You Use Human Searches?
Many anti-piracy services use automated methodologies because they can be scaled and it allows them to work on potentially an infinite number of projects. The major issue however is that whilst automated services can work on far more projects, the quality of the work suffers.
It is extremely easy for a pirate linking site to trick an automated bot. For instance, pirate linking sites often change their domain names and/or use proxies. They also hide unlicensed content behind link obfuscators, captcha response tests and ad-sponsored holding pages which many automated bots cannot circumvent. Failing that, pirate sites will often re-upload the file or even re-name it to something less obvious.
A manual search methodology can thus spot these tricks quickly and adapt to them. Contrarily, an automated bot needs to be redeveloped and this can be a costly and slow process.
Whilst we automate as much as we can, intelligent manual searches must also be conducted to ensure a comprehensive and thorough internet anti-piracy campaign.
We have provided exclusive anti-piracy services for over 10,000 albums and EPs including a dozen Number 1 Chart topping albums in the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, Germany, France and Brazil. Our results speaks for themselves.
How Long Does it Take to Remove an Infringing File?
We have administrative access to over 20 cloud services in order to remove content instantaneously. The rest generally remove content within 24 hours. We pro-actively remove unlicensed content from any site that does not disable access within a maximum of 48 hours. In addition, we are Trusted Partners of Google and can remove infringing search results within 2 hours.
Occasionally, there are sites that do not remove unlicensed content and, in these cases, we contact their internet service providers, liaise with Copyright protection bodies such as the BPI, IFPI and BREIN etc and we will also contact other appropriate parties such as advertisers and payment processors.
We will not rest until the infringing content is removed.
Do You Remove Infringing YouTube videos?
We generally do not remove YouTube videos unless specifically requested. However, we do remove content from YouTube should you require us to do so.
We recommend that labels utilise YouTube’s Content ID system as this allows a label to delete and/or monetise content themselves.
How Much Does it Cost to Use the Digital Copyright Consultancy?
Our prices vary considerably but are affordable. As we use tried and tested manual methodologies, the more piracy there is for a release, the greater the cost.
For example, the cost for internet anti-piracy on a chart topping album by Kylie Minogue is considerably more expensive than for a small dance EP released via Beatport because the piracy will inevitably be far greater.
Please contact us with your release details and we will get back to you with a very competitive quote.
